Department of Civil Engineering at Technical University of Denmark (DTU), Section of Indoor Environment is seeking a PostDoc in the field of Indoor Environment and Ventilation.

Responsibilities and tasks
We expect that the PostDoc candidate will participate in both national and international research projects in the field of indoor environment and related ventilation, air distribution and air conditioning systems in buildings. Candidates are expected to develop strong collaborative, innovative and multi-disciplinary research activities, while they should contribute to strengthen and develop teaching in indoor environment and air distribution.

The successful candidate is expected to engage in fundraising and active participation in externally funded projects.

Project results are disseminated through project reports, scientific papers, and oral presentations. It is therefore expected that the candidate will participate in conferences and write both reports and scientific papers.

The candidate will participate in the department work on teaching and applying for relevant funding. In this regard, the candidate will contribute to the DTU course on ventilation 11221, by holding lectures and being in charge of assignment work.

Qualifications
Qualified applicants should have: 

  • A PhD degree or equivalent
  • Expertise in ventilation and advanced, occupant centered, air distribution in spaces (including offices, hospitals, bedrooms) and their effects on occupants’ health, comfort and performance, evaluation of indoor environments by climate chamber and field studies including Computational Fluid Dynamic (CFD) predictions, advanced measurements (including optical techniques, breathing thermal manikins, particle transport, etc.), human subjects
  • An international network with universities, industry and consulting companies
  • Experience in development and management of scientific research projects
Further qualifications: 
  • Teaching experience is a benefit
  • Experience in applying for relevant funding is a benefit

Salary and terms of employment
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed with the relevant union. The period of employment is two years from 2020. 

The workplace is DTU Lyngby Campus.
