ZeroWaste Byg

Long term sustainability is incompatible with open materials cycles. Construction materials have traditionally been based upon a linear material flow, which is untenable in the long term. The Development Area rethink materials cycles in the production of construction materials. Research and innovation focus is on increased replacement of natural raw materials with secondary resources. Turning waste to secondary resources requires both innovative thinking and building of fundamental knowledge.

With basis in these two, a huge variety of new or redesigned construction materials can be developed. Materials with new and innovative characteristics, as well as materials with new composition but similar or improved characteristics as known from the traditional materials of today.
