Young researcher awarded for outstanding results in energy efficiency and indoor environment

Postdoc Ongun Berk Kazanci from DTU Civil Engineering has been awarded the REHVA Young Scientist Award. The award is given for outstanding research work within the fields of heating, ventilation and air conditioning.

On April 5th Postdoc Ongun Berk Kazanci from DTU Civil Engineering was awarded the REHVA Young Scientist Award. REHVA is short for Federation of European Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning Associations.

Each year REHVA hands out a maximum of three Young Scientist Awards. Ongun Berk Kazanci was the only one awarded this year and received the prize during DANVAK Dagen 2017 – the annual conference of the Danish REHVA Member Association, DANVAK.

The Young Scientist Award is given for outstanding research work on subjects covered by the fields of REHVA competence and is awarded to scientists younger than 35. The research results can be disseminated through a thesis, dissertation, or various shorter publications of similar importance.

The motivation for awarding the prize to Ongun Berk Kazanci was in recognition of “his outstanding scientific achievements and for his contributions to improve energy efficiency and the indoor environment of buildings”.

“The Young Scientist Award is an important recognition of my field of expertise: How to improve energy efficiency while at the same time ensuring a healthy indoor environment. I am very glad and honored to receive this award and am looking forward to continuing my research,” says Ongun Berk Kazanci.
