MSc in Civil Engineering

The MSc in Civil Engineering comprises planning, design, risk -assessment, erection, and maintenance of buildings, services, construction work, and towns. The subjects of the education varies from roads, railways, bridges and tunnels to houses and halls with load bearing structures and facades and services for heating, lighting, acoustics and fire safety, water supply drain and sewers, channels, harbours and off-shore structures and town plans.

 

General Competences

The master education in Civil Engineering comprises a number of general competences, which are considered as common for all civil engineers and therefore common for all students, contrary to the study lines which are optional. The general part at the master level comprises advanced building design, engineering modelling, planning, and management of building projects, fire safety, thermal building physics, structural modelling of plates and shells, concrete technology, building acoustics and a general knowledge about all specializations.
